II. The Long Project
The Long
Republic
A novel at the intersection of civil war and the Irish Troubles — with something older than history threading through it.
The Long Republic begins in the ash and exhaustion of a civil war that has lasted so long no one who started it is still alive. Two nations, exhausted and suspicious, press against each other across a border that was once a river. The Troubles are not over — they have simply found new names.
And underneath all of it: the Firstborn. Something that predates the war, predates the nations, predates the stories people tell about why they fight. It does not take sides. It does not need to.
This page will grow as the work does. Excerpts, notes, and dispatches from the page will appear here as the novel finds its shape.
"The border is a scar. The question is whether it has healed."
