He is working on The Long Republic, a novel about a civil war that won't end and a threat older than the nations fighting it. He reads Hemingway, McCarthy, Pynchon, Chabon, Lehane, and Susanna Clarke. He is not interested in easy answers or Mary Sue protagonists.
